    Frozen Lakes?

Back during the big freeze of “83”, I remember Lake Worth freezing over. It froze hard enough to get out on it. I think that lake has frozen over 4 or 5 times.

I was just wondering if any of the lakes around the state have frozen with this latest sustained freeze.

I walked across the middle of ours yesterday. It’s quite thick in Wheelock.

Not enough to get on but Pines is about 70% froze.
      Middle is still open water.
Someone posted video yesterday of PK being partially frozen over.
My pond is at about 4".
Walked on it yesterday but the ice was squealing and didn't like it any.
Dog had a blast though chasing his ball across it, quite comical
Haven't been out today, as we're in the middle of a sleet storm atm lol.

I crappie fished it in '83. Drove from Grapevine over the ice to do so.

Were you able to navigate the roads for the goose hunt?

                Frozen Lakes?

We have neighborhood ponds and larger golf course lakes that are frozen all the way across and easily thick enough to walk on. I drove the neighborhood yesterday morning and found long stretches of the Brazos frozen shore to shore. That seems to be only the deeper, slower moving parts.

Lots of coves and canals off Lake Granbury are frozen over.

My buddy sent me a pic of him standing out on Eagle Lake yesterday and said the lake was frozen completely over.

Whiterock Lake in Dallas is frozen across. It isn't very thick away from shore.

So how thick does the ice have to be to go ice fishing?
