This sounds like an exciting trip! I encourage you to read the U.S. State Department's Information page for Kyrgyzstan for things you should know before you go.

Nothing about the war on the Kyrgyzstan info page. In fact, they are currently considered to be a relatively low risk country. Great info about medical care (they recommended seeking ANY form of med care in ANOTHER country!), entry/exit requirements, laws and arrests, etc., etc. Nothing alarming enough to keep you from going (if you are a man) but enough ďknow before you goĒ information to keep you out of trouble.

Good looking critter. Pretty barren looking landscape. They hang out in that arid region or is that base camp area? Congrats brother, how about your buddy's hunt.

Cool

Assuming in that wide open environment you took one with rifle from long distance?
If you killed one with a bow in that barren landscape you have skills

Yes it was with a rifle at 450 yards. I talked to another hunter at the airport and he stuck one at 90 yards with a bow. Guy had skills. I have no idea how he even got that close!
