Default Hand me down shotgun!

I was the lucky recipient last week of a shotgun passed down to me from my wife's uncle. He said he purchased it to go on a dove hunt in Mexico over 10 years ago and hadn't touched it since. I will be sure to pass it down to Nolan... fortunate as I was just about to go looking for a semi auto 20 ga.

Now I gotta go find some shells and let 'er fly.

Very nice tiger stripe maple butt stock. I enjoy hunting with my 20 ga more than the 12. Get just as many birds and don't get the bruising.

Congratulations Clay, that is a fine shotgun, and a great story about how you got it. Be sure to send pics of your hunts using it to your wife's uncle. Also, goes without saying but post those same hunting pics to TBH since we all want to see that cool 1100 in action too! Good luck hunting with it.

Beautiful gun. Your good fortune to be given something with history and stories attached.

They are extremely wonderful and extremely generous people. I am lucky that my new uncle will lend his ear at any moment and help walk me through tough decision I have to make. Even when they don't have first hand experience. They don't have any kids but still helped us in deciding which day care to enroll Nolan in. Pure, sound judgment.

You get to pick your wife, but you can't pick her family. I am very fortunate to have them around.

A buddy of mine let me shoot his 700 in 30-06. That is an amazing rifle. I wouldn't mind having one one day.

67 years ago my grandfather handed me a single shot Excel 410 shotgun on my 6h birthday. 34 years later I handed my son this same shotgun on his 6th birthday. In 13 months it goes to my granddaughter on her 6th birthday. Knowing her, she will probably try and talk me out of my sxs Winchester in a trade for the 410 and a little cash, if I'm lucky.
