When the political crap crept in last year I quit following. Is it still there? I will likely follow the playoffs. Still want to see them win.

I would be surprised if he re-signed, though the short stop market isn't huge.

Agreed. I just hold out hope since 70+mm per year come off the books with Grienke and Verlander contracts expiring.

Heíll probably get close to Lindor type money (8-10 years at $30-32mm/yr). Thatís my guess anyway. And the Stros arenít going to do a 8-10 year contract. Nor do they want to pay $30mm/yr (I donít think, but they paid Verlander that though). So, any chance the Stros have to keep him is offer an 8 year deal for $30mm/yr with op-outs starting after year 5. Just a WAG.

Oh, and Iím sure that Tucker is probably going to be the World Series MVP since I was so vocal about him being streaky and not an elite hitter yet lol

Eff the Yankees. The funniest part to me is that game last night would have been played in New York if we hadnít had the miracle comeback at Minute Maid right before the all star break😂😂😂

I think the stros would go to 30-35 million per year, but I don't think they will go longer than 6 years.

8 years for 240mm and give him a 5 yr opt out. I think that would get it done. 30 mil in 5 years is going to be ho hum money for the sport.

I'm just worried that after this year he's going to get paid big bucks, then next year it'll be back to his oft-injured ways and the Astros are left holding the bag. Look at Springer. Wasn't he out most of the year with injuries too?

Thats true. It just seems like so often once someone signs a fat new contract theyíre never as good as they were before. Thats what I was getting at.

Nice start to the series. Not sure it was smart to use Graveman and Pressly with a 6 run lead. Why give Chicago a fresh look at them with a game tomorrow?

Because Baker canít manage a bullpen. Heís awful when it comes to that. Iím also disappointed he left Odorizzi off the roster and kept Siri, who has a BROKEN FINGER, solely for pinch running opportunities. Mind blowing for me, Baker has zero confidence in Odorizzi. But that doesnít mean we should keep a worthless bench player on the ALDS roster for ďpossible pinch running situationsĒ. This isnít the NL, or World Series where you have to be strategic about pinch hitting for pitchers. Itís the ALDS. Baker screwed this up.

Using Pressly in the 9th with a 5 run lead was an odd choice for sure. He'll be available tomorrow, then an off day, then be available again for game 3 if needed. But still, just odd.

TBH I donít think Baker is pulling the strings on the roster. Thatís coming down the pipe and Baker is managing the team he is given. Iím
Luke warm on Odorizzi anyway. Baker using the bull pen can be suspect but thatís always a hindsight 20-20 view

Having that dude that can fly on the base paths is pretty important in the playoffs. ie Derek Fisher and game 5 vs LA.

Glad they won. Can't watch since I cut the cord a couple of years ago. Only certain games. Not doing MLB with a VPN for playoffs.

I thought it was a terrible move with such a big lead. But, it is the playoffs. Do what you have to do. Baker makes very odd pitching moves.
