seeing as the bobcat (red lynx) is the only lynx found in the US I'd say bobcat fluffed up in the cooler climate

Only other thing it could be is a black panther

      Bobcat

A lynx would be about twice that size and much longer legs, bobcats do have tufts of hair on their ears and a black tip on the tail, also white under the tail.

        Bobcat.

That is a beautiful area. Only been in the winter for skiing though.

Based on the black ear tufts, I say Lynx

This is our first summer trip here, and its one heck of a way to get away from the Heat for a bit. A lot to do, high around 68 during the day around 50 at night and wildlife everywhere. Rains every afternoon as well. At our place back home I hadn't seen rain in a year or so,lol.

Bobcats can have ear tufts. Every one we have trapped has them, not near as long as a lynx would have.

Send that pic to a biologist in NM and let us know what they say.

                      Bobcat

Thought I have seen them many times growing up hunting mule deer/elk in the high country of unit 34 & 35. Can be hard to tell, they def don't stick around for long!

Great pic, thank you for sharing!
