    Colorado’s new points fee changes.

I just finished my application last night for Colorado. For a non resident to apply for moose, goat, sheep, elk, deer and pronghorn it will now cost somewhere around $427.

My question is for the guys who have points and have applied for the big 3(moose,sheep and goat) in the past will you continue to do so with the new preference point fee??

I think this is going to price out a lot of non residents. I for once feel optimistic that I will at some point draw a goat and sheep tag at some point in my lifetime.

    Yikes. And that's all non-refundable?

This is the year I've started applying to different states and gathering points. Apparently I've missed out on the cheap period of accumulating points in CO. I had plans of applying for all species, but Im certainly out until I have a little more disposable income!

Holy smokes, yes that it is a large chunk. If I had a deep desire and interest in hunting the big 3 in CO and had a handful of points, I'd keep putting money towards the preference points each year.

However, I have none, so technically your question does not apply to me.

if your not a resident of these western states I think in the future tags are gonna get way outta hand . I paid 661$ for my otc elk tag last year , I think a resident can hunt for 40$ could be wrong but not far off . Thinks that’s kinda BS !

What it would cost to apply just for a point?

Ohhhhh, on top of paying the small game license, we have to pay $40 fees for elk, deer, and pronghorn too?

I must have misunderstood. I thought they did away with preference point fees last year, and then added that each applicant purchase a small game license for this year going forward. And, with the $81 purchase each year, you can get elk, deer, pronghorn PPs.

If I understood them right (on the phone) there is no longer a preference point fee for each species (except the big 3). So that puts your cost right around $100.

Elk, deer, and pronghorn is $9 each not $40. Other 3 are correct.

You are correct. I misread that. Goat and sheep are the only two I am excited that the odds may get better
