Only showed up on camera two times, different cameras. Saw him from the tractor while brush hogging and a handful of times over two seasons from the stand at a distance.
Every time I thought I was closing in, he got further out.
No idea what happened, but up here it’s common to lose large bucks after the rut to extreme cold. Nothing at all showing up in person or on camera that’s even close this year.
I never saw him in person. Never went to a feeder(wasn’t expecting him to) and don’t know of anyone killing him. I’d get these pics about once a year (except when he had the long two and brow only on that right side). That year he lived in one of my food plots but I couldn’t hunt him because I’d already killed a deer in that one buck county. He was a mystery.
I have come back to this thread several times to look at this deer. He is impressive. His rack almost looks fake due to the size of the frame. This was in Texas?
I had this deer at 22 yards and passed on him thinking he was not quite mature enough. Rifle hunter killed him a few weeks later. 170s and 7 years old. DOH!

Not the biggest, but the biggest we had at the property the first year we were there. It was about two weeks before season when we closed and everyone was out of feeders, luckily a friend had one sitting around.
