Prayers for your brother! As an arborist, I cringe everytime I see someone on a ladder, pruning/cutting trees. Y'all be careful out there. YouTube has tons of "tree fails" videos of people trimming trees on ladders.

I broke my hip and femur a few years back and the hip seemed to come around pretty quick but the femur not so much. Bones don’t heal as quick in your 40’s but he will be up and going pretty quick. To completely recover it’s going to take a few months, the rehab is the determining factor on getting over it but he will be fine before he knows it. His ortho may not go for it but mine gave me an ice machine and that was the absolute best thing I had for helping with the pain and swelling the weeks following surgery so he may ask about one.

Once he’s healed up he’ll be like me and never look at a ladder again though I bet.
