Had a decent day in Galveston. Had 3 keepers and 1 more that probably would’ve made it yesterday morning. Sat on the beach with the family yesterday evening and had 2 sharks almost immediately. Followed them up with a hard head (only caught 2 yesterday that's a record for me. LOL) Ran the rod back out and got bit as I was stepping onto the beach. I was thinking maybe another shark. Let the boys reel it in and it was a big ol spec!! Good times!

Thanks guys. The sharks and the big trout were all caught on 6-7” live mullet. I thought about releasing her but she was gut hooked so we are having trout for dinner tomorrow night.

The trout don't leave the surf. Our ability to catch them changes.

Interesting how the pattern differs from one area to another.... Being from Southeast Louisiana, the trout there will begin to make their way into the interior marshes in around September.

He has caught a lot of nice trout but he’s never busted 30”.

Funny story. 6-7 years ago one of the neighbors was asking me if my son Cameron had a tendency to exaggerate or maybe lie a little bit.

I asked him in what sense.

He said, I don’t man… he’s always talking about all the fish he catches and that last weekend he caught two 30” trout in back to back casts.

I said, oh yeah. He’s lying. One was 29” and the other was 29.5” [emoji1787]
