Default Hand foot and mouth. Any help?

Daughter got it from school. Doc said itís rare that adults get it. Well I got it BAD BAD. I have a fairly high pain tolerance and I broke down and went to the ER this morning not knowing what was wrong. Huge rash of it on my back. Arms. Chest. Feet. Hands. Nose. Itís the worst pain Iíve felt in my life.

Doc gave me a bottle of codene pills. 325 mg. Ainít phased it yet. Used calamine lotion after soaking in lavender epsom salt. That SLIGHTLY helped.

Anyone dealt with this? Remedy? Iím desperate here. Do still have to pass a DOT drug test for work so not THAT desperate

Yíall helped with the rona big time. Donít fail me now!

Wow, sorry you’re going through this. I didn’t even know what it was, never heard of it, had to look it up. First search didn’t provide any help. Pain meds is all they suggest. Sorry.

Happened to me too a few years back. It was the worst sick I’ve ever been.

Nothing you can do except stay hydrated. It too about 3-4 weeks to fully get over it. I was 75% better after about 7 days.

I didn’t get a big rash. It was the constant 103 fever for 4 days that was bad

Hope you get over it quick.

Did a check just to see if Ivermectin had been tested against the FMDV. Here’s a link on it. According to the study, it did show to be effective in reducing the replication stage of the virus.

Sorry you got this, sounds very painful, hope you feel better. Quick research indicates cold foods like ice cream, smoothies, and popsicles help numb some of the face area pain. Good luck.

My wife and I both caught it from our kids around 10 years ago. I only had the mouth and hands part. The sores in the mouth were the worst part for me. Docs didnt prescribe me anything. Took about a week to to start feeling better and clear up. My case was not as severe as yours, but it still sucked.

Man it’s terrible I have had it before. I was about 33 or so and it was one of the worst things I have been through. I got some pain pills and basically had to sleep it off. I Pray this doesn’t happen to you but I got it again about two years later. I haven’t had it since and it’s been about 5 years. And I wash my hands and stay clean. It’s terrible.

Prayers for you! Keep the Faith In the LORD!

Asked wife. She's a RN, and thought I was joking.

She provided nothing, but is dealing with her own issues. Got about 50 mosquito bites on just one leg and suffering for last 10 days. And yes about just as many on her other leg.

With that said, I'll I can give you it prayer.

You have a virus that probably needs to run it course. If that is the case, ask your doc for something to help you sleep. Otherwise, drop the meds and drink plenty of tequila.

Won't stop the pain but will make you not care. Watch the dose, so you say on a level alcoholic level to not puke or come down until the virus passes.

On a different note, how is the kiddo doing?

Ran a bad fever, break out wasn’t that bad relatively speaking, but I had a horrible fever and my nutsack swelled up bigger than a grapefruit. Couldn’t hardly walk and ended up going to ER

Took me over a year to gain back the weight I lost due to it. It sucked I wouldn’t wish that on anybody

I had it about 9 or 10 years ago. That along with the shingles I am dealing with now are the two most painful things Iíve ever dealt with. Constant pain and itching from what I recall. Blisters on tops and bottom of both hands and feet, mouth and throat and a few blisters on arms and legs. Had to let it run its course after 3-4 days it started calming down. It did kill all my fingernails and toenails and new ones grew in.

I hurt bad and itch a lot. Pain meds arenít touching it. No sleep to speak of. Maybe 5 minutes here and there. Fixing to soak in the oatmeal bath again. This blows

I had it a couple weeks back. Doc told me to run itís course. Was also one of the worse things Iíve experienced sickness wise. Best thing I can tell you is try to manage the pain the best you can. When the blisters are done you will have an incredible amount of dead skin.

Both of my kids have had it. Son was for sure worse than my daughter. Luckily neither my wife or I got it.

Hope you find something that works.

I had it a few weeks back, and it was pretty rough. It still sounds like I had it easy compared to most in here. The first day with the 103+ fever kicked my butt the most, but the rest of the days it was business as usual during the day. At night I couldnít sleep though. Maybe 3 hours total in 4 days.

Soaking hands and feet in a warm bowl of Aveno Oat Meal Bath mixed very rich helped me. It is the most miserable sickness I have had. Only way I could eat was individually dab a tropical ointment from the doctor inside my mouth on each blister. It would numb it just long enough to eat. There is light at the end of the tunnel on day 7-10. I also got a steroid shot that also helped. I got it two years ago from my oldest. My 1 year old has it now and is absolutely miserable
