Default 2022 Toyota Tundra Press Release

Looks like some leaked photos of the 2022 Toyota Tundra started to get out so Toyota went ahead and started a formal press release. Looked for a thread but didn't see one.

https://pressroom.toyota.com/first-o...toyota-tundra/

I'm hoping to get another 4+ years out of my 2014 GMC 1500 but maybe by then the used market will have come back down to earth and I can find a 2 year old one with low miles. Powertrain rumors and gas mileage estimates I've read have both been pretty sweet!

With the prices of new F-150s I am eagerly waiting for the specs on this. They seem to be a better value.

Default 2022 Toyota Tundra Press Release

I might be in for one of these. Always been a Ford person but I like the Tundra also. They have just been out dated for so long. If it has some modern engine options with nice interior and technology I may get one. Would prefer the TRD Pro or something along those lines.

Plus I will still have my F250 diesel

The new Tundra is not going to be cheaper than any of the others. Toyota has always commanded higher prices on their trucks compared to their competition and this "all new" version will be no different.

BTW, we just bought my wife a new 2021 F150 Lariat 2 weeks ago and between our trade price and discount on the truck, we got what I considered to be a very good deal.

I see your point, but the current chevy redesign looks like current tundra, so I'll say chevy copied Toyota.

I may get used to it but I don't care for the trend towards those massive grills - Lexus does the same thing on their SUVs.

Me either.... add in being a guinea pig for their new motors and I'm glad I got in when I did. It'll probably grow on me eventually though.

To get the horse power out of that V6 they added those twin turbo's. There won't be a "million mile tundra" with that engine.

I have a feeling V8's are going to become extinct in half ton trucks. Better get one while you can if your in the market.

I like it. Interested in the engine specs. If they can put out the numbers of the ecoboost, I’d buy another Tundra for my 1/2 ton needs. I had a ‘09 and a ‘19, dang good trucks just outdated. My ‘19 ecoboost will run circles around the ‘19 Tundra I had. I hope Toyota has hit a home run with this redesign, and I’ll have another in the driveway.

Yeah, but your ecoboost is DONE once you get close to 200K miles.

And the gas mileage is crap once you put anything behind it. Mine got about 9 miles a gallon with an empty 16' trailer.

Can't wait!
I'll be the first guinea pig, and let y'all know.
20k plus a yr in gas, and gas still going up, so I'm all in.
Nothing wrong with my current Tundra, 250k on the odometer without a hitch, but the gas mileage is ridiculous.

Not true. There are plenty of high mileage videos on YouTube.

You may have to maintain it a little higher but it will last if not abused.

The fact that Toyota can build a good looking and powerful truck, but can't figure out how to have a nice good looking interior blows my mind. The price paid for the truck is not equivalent to their interior design IMO.

Hopefully the rumors are true that Toyota has figured out how to build a truck that gets even decent gas mileage that is close to the Big Three - if they do, then I am in on a new one. Otherwise, I will continue to watch those gas guzzlers from the outside.

Love the reliability - hate the MPG.

Think I'll just keep my ol 2010 while they're having this "mine looks goofier than yours" contest. Anyhoo, anybody know if they still offer the grade model? ....pretty much the work truck version without all the fancy chit that breaks. Mine is an 8' bed dbl cab 4x4 and I don't even know if that's still offered...? Thanks!

Love my interior!
What's wrong with it?
The simple fact, that after a quarter million miles of washboard rds, offroad, caliche roads, etc..the interior is tight as dicks hat band, has me sold.
We have a Ford 350, 250, Ecoboost 1/2 ton, and a 2020 Chevy 1500, they all rattle and squeak, but not the Tundra.
I also use a truck as a truck, and can do without a sunroof, moonroof, azz massager, and all the other cheap plastic crap they put in trucks nowadays.
I'm sure a Cadillac interior is nice if it's just a pavement princess, but that ain't me .

Like many, I am concerned with the use of a turbo'd V6, but if any company can do it well, it is Toyota. I believe they have been doing something similar on their Land Cruisers and other overseas offerings. That said, I will continue with my '14 Tundra with the 5.7 V8 for as long as she will start. After that, who knows what the marketplace will look like...

V6 Twin Turbo is what I don't care much about. Almost all twin turbo engined cars have issues. Maybe Toyota has figured that out and it won't have an issue, but we'll have to wait and see...
I like my V8, I just wish I had gotten the CrewMax since we have two babies now....

What year is your Tundra? Any noticeable difference in quality and reliability compared to American-made product?
