    Native Sunflower

Anybody got them going this year? Did a 12 acre plot myself for the first time this year in Callahan County and holy cow am i surprised how awesome they are doing for the first year. We shredded and cleared the field of trees in November then disced and planted in Mid January. 22 inches or rain to this point is what farm logs app shows and we have some that are about 7 feet tall. If you got some pics i would love to see them.

Ours look great as well. All I did was burn our pasture and they popped up

They have taken over parts of my place. They can be a real nuisance.

No I did not plant. They have steadily spread over the years due to floods.

We have a place North of Aspermont and have never had a huntable number of doves except for one year. That year the wild sunflower were all over one CRP field and it was game on. Easy limits.

Here is a TC pic from one of my feeders, it's empty now so the deer and pigs haven't beat down the growth in the feeder pen. Hopefully the CRP looks like this as well.

I have some natives but not alot. I planted them after the big freeze (wished I would have done in before the freeze).

I do have a couple acres of peredovik sunflowers I planted and they are looking good but need a rain.

Our fields in Albany look as good as they ever have.

Turner seed in Breckenridge is where i would recommend as well.

Once they are established after year 1, you just need to plow them under in Jan-Feb and they will come back stronger the next year
