    Trad Bow Noise: Iphone Docimeter

I downloaded an App to my Iphone called "Decible X". No way it's as accurate as a calibrated docimeter, but decent enough for comparison.

So I had my wife check how load my bow is. Prior to shot: 47 dB background noise. At the shot the max is avg of 78 dB. To be honest, that seems a bit louder than I'd like.

Is that "loud"? Would love to hear what others can measure using their Iphone on a bow they consider "quiet".

Just to note: I was using a Bodnik Speed Glove (which has Cordura finger tips) and got 78 dB. I repeated the shots later using a glove with all leather tips and the noise level on release dropped to 75 dB.

    Cordura is noisy!

You're in a normal range. You can look up Cody Greenwood's Tradlab results to see decibel testing for a lot of different bows if you're interested.

Ill check out Decibel X. Pretty cool. Itd be interesting to see what your decibel level is coming and going at target.

            What say you Mr51?
