Immediate image is the shape of the state and landscape that looks like the Canadian River area north of Amarillo on 87. Why that landscape pops into my head I do not know. I've only driven through there a handful of times.

I didn’t reconcile being a Texas transplant until 3 weeks ago. I fought it hard being from Alabama, then SOMETHING happened while fishing with the grandson. I guess another kicker was pondering that one of my relatives fought with Andrew Jackson against the Creek Indians on the river I hunt on our property in Alabama (Burnt Corn Creek) but died here fighting at the Alamo. Good nuff for him, good nuff for me.

I tried leaving Texas but would get medically airlifted back to BAMC or Wilford Hall over and over again, almost a comedy, God has a sense of humor.

I have many visualizations of Texas but one that stands out is watching Willie Nelson on a breezy Hill Country evening next to a river with the Full Moon over the stage. It is not to be forgotten.
