Just bought this unit at BPS on sale. I want to mount it on my trolling motor. The transducer that came with it is for transom mount. My question is, can I just get a trolling motor mounting bracket and use the transducer that came with it or pay the upgrade of $60+tax and get a transducer that is made to mount on the trolling motor (shielded)? Anyone know if I would be asking for trouble with interference from trolling motor?

I never had a issue with mine but I have heard people talk about it. I always assume it didn't have nothing to do with the way it was mounted though. Both transducers mount by a clampComment

It's designed different in that it has extra shielding to avoid interference. Just wondering if it was worth the $60 or not from experienced users.Comment
