Been wanting a Fallow for awhile now but never had the chance to hunt them. that changed this past weekend. Got to the ranch on Sunday around 3. Started hunting looking for a big fallow. Hunted with bow for first 2 days the Switched to Riffle the last morning. It took us til Tuesday morning to even lay eyes on him. Dumb luck really. Just bumped him up and he shagged. We thought he went one way, so I stalked through the woods for better part of the next hour or so where I thought he went. Nada. So we re-grouped and headed back the direction we had not looked because we were sure he did not go that way. WRONG, he was bedded at the base of a small bluff next to a creek. When he saw me he held tight for about 30-40 seconds. He was in dense brush so no shot was possible. I guess he thought he was hidden, but being a solid White animal in the woods does not help him much. He finally had enough and busted up out of the brush. Had he just kept running he would have been home free. He stopped at the top of the bluff to look me over 1 last time. I had made some bleet sounds when I saw him running. He dropped in his tracks... I am very happy with him. He was way bigger body then I thought they were and his mass is crazy also. Very old and mature Fallow.
