We put out 9 cameras last week. Gonna wait till next week to check them out. We have never been a big camera using lease. I would rather just go out and see what shows up. One of our guys got a fancy drone. I guess we will see what the bad boy will do. Like Darts said I think most of us are supposed to get some rain. Our folks have not planted yet.
Anyone planted and battling army worms yet?

Weather forecast looking decent for the opener. 30% Saturday and 60% Sunday with high/low at 78/58.

Was 20% and high/low of 74/55.

Iím 99% sure Iím going regardless of rain unless itís a torrential downpour. Iím just hoping a lease mate decides to go. My 2wd might not make it to the cabin without some assistance.

Called the rancher in Vernon today. He said not even bother coming up this weekend. Too much rain to get through any of our pastures. Oh well. No camera card pulling or dove hunting for me this weekend. Hopefully it'll be dry enough by next weekend.

Im in Foard Co., it looks like they are getting the rain today! Ive been feeding pretty much all year. Started using Buck Ration, they seem to like it. We went dove opener, very few birds. Had 2 stands blown over, must of been a good one at some point. Planning to go soon and do a small food plot and top off feeders, and replace stand. If we have a few bucks show up we passed on last season, we may have some real potential. I've never shot a deer off of it, still holding out for "the one"!!! Good luck to everyone.

He's pretty regular on a couple cameras, but not mine. He's still the only reason I may get in a blind Saturday morning.

Had 3 bucks show up on the practice sit. This one needs 2 more years I'd sy. We saw him all the time last year. He was a 9 point with a split g2. This year he has 11 points.

Saw three does this morning. And a world class porcupine. Porcupine's make a noise that sounds exactly like a mouth trumpet. Thing was directly below my tripod for nearly an hour. Kinda cool.

Looking for this guy. Maybe some day...

Feeder battery died a couple of weeks ago. Pics slowed to a trickle. Batt fixed today. Hopefully big boy and friends come back. We'll see..

Working on getting a video of that porcupine uploaded. Talked to the rancher this morning on the way out. He says to shoot all porcupines on sight. I guess they're days are numbered. Cool critters. Too bad they're so destructive.

Mosquito's were horrible this morning. Only saving grace was i had double head nets on, used my mosquito soap, and had two "mosquitospell" bracelet thingamajigs on. Helped quite a bit.

But as stated above, i have my eye on one particular buck. The battery had died on my corn feeder it looks like a couple of weeks ago. Replaced the battery, threw out a bunch of corn yesterday. But i was not overly optimistic going out this morning. Sunrise at 7:30 a.m. I got up nice and early, drove to my usual parking spot, made he 1/2 mile walk to the tripod. As i make the last turn on my approach, i hear the sound of feet hitting the cattle panel and something jumping out of the feeder pen. Gotta be a doe, right? Please see below. "A.M. and P.M. were backwards (fixed that this morning). Just sick. Try again in two weeks. Dang it.

Those mosquitos were no joke in Jack County. We have a nice chunk of land there with multiple 2-4 year olds that are just not wide enough. Hopefully the rut will bring some shooters in. For now, pigs and the one Aoudad running around.

Check out the little mesquite at the left of the picture frame at the beginning of the month and at the end of the month. The bucks hate that little tree.

Is there anything more disheartening and frustrating than to be sitting there on opening morning waiting for the feeder to go off, and it never does? Sometime after the dove opener, apparently my The Remote malfunctioned and was not letting The Timer receive the signal to throw. It took me several times to figure this out. I changed the battery first, no help. Changed The Timer next, no help. Finally I bypassed The Remote and the feeder functioned perfectly. I don't know what's the matter with it, but The Remote would cycle when you hit the button, it just wouldn't let The Timer do it's thing. Frustrating....

I had two on my place last March. They both had orange tags in their left ear. They hung around for about a week and then I never saw them again.

These were taken about 7 miles W/SW of Graham, about 10 miles East of Murray, near as I can figure....from Sept 11th-15th.

It was creepy until i figured out what it was. I'm trying to figure out if it has a hole in its back. Looks like it may have gotten into a scrap or some such.
