It wouldn't surprise me with all of the feral hogs we have. Lots of game mean lots of predators.

Certainly looks like another deer to me. The other deer don't appear to be an any real hurry either. Looks more like a loafing run than a run for their life type run. I have no doubt that there are big cats in ETX, but this picture is not proof. lol

If it was a pic of a black panther, I might believe it. But, no regular old brown panthers are ever reported in E Texas!

Definitely another doe. Clearly it does not have a long tail such as a cat would have. Just a poor quality photo.....

No way in Hades does a cat get that close to a group of deer in an open pasture. Not happening.

Well, he has only been an expert since 2020.

"Collins said he has been looked at as the expert on cougar sightings in the area since Roland Hallmark passed away in July of 2020."

I wonder what ol' Roland would have said.

Blurry pic so who knows. Guys saying it isn't a cat have as much validity as guys saying it is. I have had blurry photos look like cats before but if it isn't clear as day they aren't really worth sharing (as in the original owner of the camera).

Guys saying it isn't a cat have all the validity, because it is simply NOT a cat! lol

That is one that can't be argued.

In the facebook page, people are just saying "I knew it". lol

All these game cameras in the area and not one clear picture of one. But everybody has seen one.

We had one on our deer lease in Oklahoma years ago. She had some cubs, they hung around about two years and left. Same exact thing back home south of Athens around 2001 in Koon Kreek Klub. She had some cubs, hung around awhile, then they left.

Big cat I grew up in nacogdoches saw many of them over the years. At meadow ridge guns and archery in nacogdoches I saw one on the long rifle range at 800-900 yards. The cats have been killing cattle in The area for a while

If it was a cat, wouldn’t it be running after the deer? Like others have said, it looks like a doe getting up, and the camera caught it at a weird angle.

Even in that super blurry picture (funny how that always happens), you can tell the neck and about are too long for a cat. You can even see the deers tail.

They are around. Saw one north of Nacogcohes at the tree line behind the house. 25 yards away. Cougar for certain. Lots of area pets went missing for a few weeks.

You would think with all the sightings mentioned on here we would at least see tracks more often. They do a lot of walking.

There are mountain lion tracks posted here every once in a while. It’s just hard to tell because they always look a lot like dog tracks.
