Nueces River Fishing - 2021 starting now!

This year my family (mom, dad, wife, son, daughter, brother) are starting the week off. Got here a few hours ago and my dad/mom caught +/- 20 whites and gasper goo off the dock in just a couple of hours. Really good fishing considering it's super windy right now.

Paul (my son), and I went to Orange Grove to pick up Canoe1's boat that he's kind enough to lend us this week to fish out of.

It was just after dark before we got the boat launched but managed to get out 8 lines, 4 with 12" live gasper goo as bait on 12/0 circle hooks. others with cut bait.

Hopefully I can update with pictures starting tomorrow. I'm sure as more TBHers show up later in the week we will update this thread more.

Time to sleep and dream of monster fish on the lines!

Caught a 3-4 pound blue on R&R waiting for others to wake up this morning. Went to check lines and the first one we weak point was the twine I used to tie off to a bigger tree limb. Waters low so have to add extensions when using big baits. I bet it was just a huge gar. Whatever it was it was big LOL
Now that it's light I'll only use 250# or bigger twine.

Didn't have anything else on. All cut shad was gone. Cut goo was still on. I'll figure them out today. They may be middle of the river since it's so low or maybe down river a little bit.
