Right where I live and I love it. I’ve got Palestine, chambers, cedar creek, Jacksonville, Houston county, Athens,Tyler and my favorite Tawakani not to far away which sets next to Fork.

If you want to retire and be relatively in the country, but not too far from the “big city” with affordable land and excellent fishing close by, anything around the Lindale/Mineola would be perfect. Land tends to get a little cheaper up that way. Less than an hour into Tyler. And you have Lake Fork, Tawakoni, Bob Sandlin, and Cypress Springs all within an hour.

You forgot LOP, but agreed on the rest!

I love the San Angelo area

San Angelo, OH Ivie is kicking out toads right now and there are 2 other lakes in that area no one is talking about doing the same.

In 2011 was a mud hole.Along with every other lake,out that way.The East Texas way.The East Texas lakes fared a tad bit better..That drought is coming back,unfortunately.
