RIP champ. I remember the build up to the Mugabe fight, The Beast was undefeated, KOing everyone. Very exciting fight, Hagler knocked his *** out in the later rounds. I’m sure I’ll be YouTubeing his fights tonight.

The referee had to do some pretty fancy footwork in that round just to stay out of the way. Hagler was one of the most no bs boxers to ever enter the ring. Great pugilist.

What does his religion have to do with anything?

Yes, that was one of the great round of boxing history. Maybe it was the best three round slugfest ever.

But I just hate to put a smiley face after something that I thought was so obviously in humor.

Guess I was wrong…

It’s like using sarcasm but then having to tell everyone I just sarcasm.

The first time I ever saw him was on tv after church one Sunday. In the pre fight show they showed him in an interview. He said that on the street he was a regular nice guy, but in the ring he looked at his opponent as if he were trying to take food out of his baby's mouth.

When the opening bell sounded Hagler flew across the ring and lit into the other fighter in a fury of punches. I was instantly hooked as a lifelong fan of his and he remains my all time favorite middle weight boxer. I hated seeing him fall to the likes of Leonard and Hearns, as I always saw Hagler as the better man. The article in the link below states some great facts & stats on the man.

RIP Marvelous Marvin Haggler

I saw something like that too. I would guess that IF it is true and had something to do with the vaccine, it will be buried very deep and most will never know.

That fight with him and Hearns was just about the best I’ve ever seen.
