Best Scope Mount For Marlin 336CS 30-30

My dad is getting to where he can't see open sights well, but loves to hunt with his old 30-30. We want to mount a scope on it, but I wanted some input on the best mount options.

    Any input?

I used a weaver base and rings and topped it with a Leupold 2x7x32.

Very handy rig and the scope compliments the rifle

Talley light weight is probably the best available for a Marlin 336

If you call Talley direct see if they still have the extra lows. They actually produced them years ago because I started a campaign on another forum to request them. If not the lows are good enough.

          I prefer 6 power leupolds.

About the lowest option is weaver 466 bases with low Leupold rifleman rings

Oops, just realized you’re asking about mounts. I have leupold bases & rings on my angle ejects.

Just go Amazon for tally or find a local store and don’t forget about a hammer extension if you go extra low

I don’t like using an extension, usually for me my thumb hits it fine where the scope tapers.

Make sure you take not whether you want 30mm or 1”
