    Cutting Boards

Wife wanted a butcher block cutting board, so I made a few. Here are a couple.

    I like those
Are you planning sealing or finishing them with anything or have you?
    If so what?

Yeah, I'll finish them with a product that is a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax. That will darken the wood a bit.

What was the process to make them?

Glue up strips long grain to long grain to desired width, then cross cut strips to desired thickness. Flip to expose end grain and glue up again. You can vary the width of the long grain strips to make the different patterns. These were made with maple, cherry and purpleheart. I guess I jumped the gun a bit posting these. I'm going to round over the edges and put some finish on them. I'll post some pics when they're really finished.

My ex-neighbor made a butcher block table. I watched him do some of it. Looked like a pain.
