Opening day was slow for us and also hunted this past Saturday and fired one shot. Got a call today at lunch from someone in our area (Hamilton Co) saying birds sitting on power lines so made the hour drive. Four limits over sunflowers by 7:00.

I was in ND last week hunting sharpies and huns over my dogs. I know why there were no birds in Texas for our dove opener- they were all in ND!! We walked into fields along ag and watch 150-200 doves get up. Everywhere we drove they were on power lines or flying by. I’d imagine with these small fronts we are getting - the dove hunting should be getting pretty good in the lone star state!
