Congratulations on the move. We did it last October and the only regret I have is not doing it 40 years earlier. Summers here are awesome. The high for the year has been about 80. DIY Bear hunting is exciting and hard. Salmon fishing is awesome when the fish are thick. Gardening is different but good here also. Contact me if you ever make it to Wasilla.

Yesterday threw a few spinners around in the evening for about an hour. Caught one of the last sockeye and my first silver of the year. Caught a couple pinks but let those go. Lost one other silver as well.

Nice Red, but that doesn't look like a sliver to me on the right. Looks more like a dog (Chum). See the funny coloration stripes? Also, the silvers have more pronounced silver streaks in the tail. Really easy to mess the two up. I worked on salmon boats and in the processors for close to 10 years. Not supposed to have dogs in the Kenai, but we think they got lost. We caught three of them a couple weeks ago and surprised the living hell out of us.

Not sure why but I have always had such a strong pull towards AK. I don't want to move my kids away from their step parents as we are a blended familia. 4 more years until they graduate, we will be late 40s by then, never too late I believe.
