I can agree with the "white man" taking their land. No one cant dispute that. BUT, they were also offered generous compensation for it, granted that was a long time ago, but generous for that time. Guess what, they DECLINED it. With that being said, their arguements are now null and void. I dont care what the freaking media says or shows us. They (the media) is NOT showing us the real reason, or facts.

I have many native American friends back home. All of them left the "rez" because they wanted to better themselves, get a education and live the American dream. Once the left the "rez" they were basically shunned, banned and not welcome to come back. Corruption is all over the reservations. You look up the word "hypocrite" in the dictionary and you see reservations. My rant is over. I am proud to be from ND, but these yahoo's hiss me off!

And the private property they are on, was illegally stolen from them.

          I'd be raising hell too!
The land wasn't illegally stolen from them. They too, didn't have rights to own the land. It was wide open land, no deeds, no laws and no legal governance. These tribes would fight for rights to use these lands, like the early Americans did. And they fought between different tribes, to control and or hold these lands.

During that period, the strongest survived. They outnumbered the settlers by a wide margin....thousands more of them than the early frontiersman. Yet, that smaller band of early explorers fought them, and beat them.

This simply was a period of MANKIND'S world-wide EVOLUTION.

Imperialism was inevitable. Cultures living in primitive ideologies and lifestyles, were inevitably going to get gobbled up, by the advancements of mankind. If it wasn't for the early European settlers, then it would have been Asian and or Muslim settlers.

Laying blame to anyone group of early Euro descendant settlers, for the advancements of both American continents, is simply political horse hockey.

The Indian cultures of both American continents had free reign of these lands, for thousands of years. They had an opportunity to build and evolve on their own accord, as much as the European's did. But they chose to not advance. And to be honest, had the European's not taken the risks then, to push out and take a chance at settlement here, some other Group would have done so.

The Americas, are only one small snippet of the same play sheet used, even in the conquest of Europe, Africa and Asia...including the smaller continents and islands of the world.

And the resources of America, played a critical role in the world-wide stability of Europe, during the critical phase of Nazism. Had America not been settled, and or the settlement of America was made by a more narrow Ethnic group, the outcome of WWII could have been entirely different?

EVOLUTION - The world-wide cultures are advancing, some slower than others but, every nation on earth has benefited from the settlement history of AMERICA! It has allowed other groups, that have been persecuted, condemned and killed for believing differently, than their local culture, allowing each a place for freedom and a new start.

The good outweighs the bad. And to think otherwise - is pure selfishness at so many levels. There isn't one group of culture, in charge of AMERICA. It's a culture of all groups forming this country.

This is the difference from literally every other land of the world.

Obama now suggesting they re-route the pipeline even though a Fed Judge signed off and said they could continue. Leave it to our prez to screw something else up.

What if, biologically, Europeans had been susceptible to fatal NEW WORLD diseases, instead of vice versa.

                      That's the real turning point.

That would've turn the tables around lol

I imagine the amount of mingling Europeans did with each other/ independence and solitude the Indians kept it in the Pean's favor

Do what the casinos did. Throw some $$$ their way and all is good. That's what it is all about anyway.

I read recently that a huge majority of these protesters are from somewhere else, some even from overseas. They just want to be involved in the "cause of the month" and get on TV. According to the article, most of the local people are fed up with the whole mess and wish they would go away and let them build the pipeline.
