Default Son's first big hunt.

Ive got to hunt Alaska, Utah, Colorado, even guided for a living for several years. Ive seen a lot of beautful places and been on some awesome hunts.
But last weekend is by far my favorite. My dad, my son, I got to go on an axis doe hunt together. We got to watch my son take his first animal. Seven axis came into the watering hole where we were brushed in, but never stopped. They were there for a minute and a half. A couple of minutes later my son spotted the hogs coming in that were keeping the axis spooked. He was able to freehand a 60 yard shot with his .243 and dropped a sow. We were all stoked. We couldnt get him in a spot i felt comfortable with him shooting an axis the rest of the weekend, but dad did shoot a doe.

Helping your son take an animal is definitely more rewarding than anything you can take on your own. Enjoy those years.
