I'm seeing, more and more, some of the guys that have been here for a REALLY long time have gotten excessively combative or condescending with your discussions and replies to multiple other users. There's a fine line between attempting to be sarcastic and witty vs simply being a smart ***.

This, of course, applies to everybody but I'm primarily addressing some of the long-time members that a)know better and b)should set the example for newer members on the appropriate etiquette that we attempted to establish from the beginning (20+ years ago).

If you aren't sure if this is directed at you (it is), I'll gladly start pointing youout, publicly!

Finally! Thank you Michael for this and I don't mind you pointing the finger at me if I'm out of line. It's been a long time coming and some people just cant refrain themselves from personal attacks at the drop of a hat solely for the difference in a discussion. Again hope this sets in for some of these folks.

Often times, those old members are just tuning up a newbie that comes on here acting like a jackass and doesn’t respect the nature and history of TBH. I’ve seen that happen many times. TBH members do a pretty good job of policing their own, I think. It’s like the veteran on the ball club that tells the rookie to stop acting like a showboat...sometimes the veteran has to be a jerk to get it done right.

People just being hateful should be called out, but there ain’t much of that....outside the CFB thread.

I agree lots of threads go south in a hurry now. I used to read a thread till I got to the 1st negative comment or combative comment then I would just move on. Finding that more and more I move on pretty quickly now.

Behavior unchallenged is behavior unchanged. The line should be established with all social sites, get back to the roots. I agree. If you can’t corral the herd, cut your stock.
