I'm moving to Co in 2 weeks. I have to be a resident for 6 months before I can get a resident license so this year will be small game for me.

Iím going, but gonna use a wheel bow! Iíve been 3 other runs with a trad bow, and never gotten close enough to draw back on one. Hoping to up the odds this year a little.

I’ll be going to public land in an over the counter unit with my longbow. It will be my first year where I’m planning on hunting primarily with trad equipment.

Love that area. That's where I'll be (well DIY on public land anyway) the 8th -16ish.
The Twin spruce fishing ponds always provide a great trout lunch.

Iíll be there the first week solo trying to fill my mule deer tag (will have an elk tag as well). Iíll be returning the last 10 days of the season with three friends hoping to fill a few elk tags.

Spent the last week unsuccessfully trying to stick an antelope in Nebraska. Though my stalking skills are now honed for September.

I stalked in between two screaming bulls. They hollered back and forth and raked trees for 45 minutes. I got so riled up I missed then the bull headed straight for me. I went to draw when he passed behind a tree at 5yds and pushed my arrow off the string. Had to stand there as he passed inside of 10í. Turned and the other bull had snuck up next to me. Sent one 6Ē over his back. I havenít been that shook up in years. Hate that I didnít execute, but a cool experience. Iím still in them, though they have mostly shut down except at night. Iím here until midday Tuesday (right when a huge temperature drop is forecast), but Iíll be back on the 19th hoping to hit the full on scream fest.

Good luck everyone!

Got out just before the storm blew in this afternoon. State troopers were setting up in the chain up area at the final pass as I went through. A few days of work and some time to get my gear cleaned up before I head back to finish out the season.

We high tailed it off the mountain before the storm hit. Snow flurries as we were headed down the mountain Tuesday morning.

Listen here TurkeyÖ I've already told you once....you can't come elk hunting with me.

Ive stepped off for a NM WMA. Ive learned to call on a diaphragm within the past week. The turkeys and cows didnt know what to think of my cow elk calls...but it got their attention.
