I picked up a pretty cool old hunting knife today....

I thought I’d share.... I’ve collected knives for years and never saw one like it...
It’s an old KA-BAR..with a bear on the shield.... If anyone has any info about this knife..I’d appreciate it....I believe it was made between the 1920’s - early 50’s....
I know nothing else..except there was a story about someone killing a bear..with a kabar knife way back when....

I saw stuff from the 50's - yours is older. Most examples of yours are probably in private collections.

Kill A Bear, shortened to KABAR

My Grand father had one very similar....blade wasnt as wide.

KaBar was a very popular brand back in the early to mid 1900s all the way up into the 90s. It was known for holding a very good edge and its durability. I think you can still get them today, brand new. Their sheathed knives were very good knives.

Google KaBar knives....you will like what you see. I think they may still be American made.
