Axis spot and stalk

Well, I got my axis bow kill. I spot and stalked this axis for 400 yards before he gave me a clean shot at 25 yards. He made it about 30 yards and dropped dead. I have no idea how he didn't bust me following him. It unofficially scores 141. 35" main beams and 26" inside spread. I have been trying for two years to get a spot and stalk axis kill. I shot it on a property next to Brady Lake. I was trying to do it with a turkish bow, but I didn't have the confidence to make a clean shot with it when I had the chance. I finally gave in and took the compound with me this time. The stars aligned and it went perfect.

That’s a nice axis. Well done with a bow. Were they roaring ? Man, it was hot in Brown county after the rain stopped. Hope you got that dude on ice quick !

There was a few in the distance making that bugleing sound. Weather was cool and cloudy, but I got him on ice pretty quick. I did not weigh him. I did the gutless method and each leg was pretty dang heavy.
