    Learn me on Bricks

Wife is wanting a brick walkway from front of house to a covered parking area. We made several when I was growing up but I had a buddy who’s dad worked at the brick plant and we always got free ones.

How much does a pallet of bricks cost and how many are usually on a pallet?

    516 bricks per pallet
    Price depends on brick.
I would visit a local brick supply and find some they want to get rid of.

concrete with a unique mold design may be cheaper.

CB, that’s like using roux from a jar.

No help but I can remember doing a walkway many years ago. Clearing and digging out the path, getting the base just right, laying the bricks, setting them up wit mix and in some kind of fancy pattern. It was as perfect a job as you could get in gumbo soil. Two weeks after the first rain and when the soil dried out, you could walk five steps on it without spraining an ankle. Maybe I should have done a stamped concrete path

I paid 500 per 1000 brick for the house.. if you have a local brick yard they may have a broken cube you can buy cheaper.. most of the time when you brick the whole house you use the same run of brick because different batches will vary in color.. or drive around the neighborhood and stop and ask someone who has a pile sitting out back ..

Meridian Brick is south of you in Henderson. Might contact them and see if they have some culls that they want to get rid of.

Pallets of mason bricks? You mean cubes and straps right?

Or are you speaking of Pavestone-like products?

Regular brick won’t last well. You need pavers, solid brick.

Yall bring back some hard memories. I worked in Brownwood in my 19th summer stacking hot bricks fresh out of the oven. Only had a narrow tin roof to provide a little shade for part of the day (outside work). Those hot bricks would wear a set of leather gloves down fast. Had a second job in the evening working food prep for a few hours after that. I sure looked forward to that evening job as it was air conditioned.

I can't remember the name. I remember where it was at though. It was in town. And just a couple blocks from where I lived. Texas Brick Company maybe? Really can't remember.

They'd bring the bricks out with a forklift and set them on the conveyor for the stackers. Hard hot work. Make a man loose a lotta sweat.
