Blanco County Buck (kill shot)

Spent some time in the blind this weekend. We're still trying to figure out the deer in our second season on this Blanco County property. The main goal is to just reduce the numbers right now.

Adam (Mooseontheloose) and I pulled a double this morning while my buddy Mike dropped a 9 point yesterday.

Blanco County does are the hardest animal on the planet to hunt. I want to kill 20 of them...but man they're a formidable opponent!

I tell everyone old does are the toughest deer to kill.
Wary of their own shadow!

BTW As a non professional, I suggest leaving the biggest ones regardless of age.
Human nature being what it is, we always shoot the biggest does. Me included most of my life.
The best genetic bodied deer.

Wasp Jakhammer. Blades took a beating due to the shot being a bit forward and right through the shoulders. He did not go far, though. Easy blood trail. Arrow was 10 feet beyond him after the shot.

Good. I had to toy with the pressures to get the ride right. Was awful bumpy at first. I've been through some nasty thorn patches with no ill effects, yet.
