If I were a young person I would venture into a medical field career. Get into a career you can enjoy yourFamily if possible while working. I always envied the people that had self rewarding jobs. But at the same time I did nothing myself to go that direction.
Myself turned 60 earlier this year, I retired from an oil company going on 7 years ago that still have/had good benefits. Good luck on your decision.

I ended up getting my real estate license and have done really well but dont feel like its my calling!! I loved the military life and have found it difficult to find something that i enjoyed as much as it! With the oilfield picking up i have had some calls to come back but i think its time for me to find a 9-5 job, with 3 kids i dont wanna miss any more of there life being gone. Though maybe hearing what everybody does and if they enjoy it might help decide a new career path!!

I held 4 positions within the Federal govt, FA Soldier, LE, Security, and Behavioral Analysis. I moved into the private sector and was miserable. After the school shootings in Santa Fe and Florida I decided to become a HS teacher. I am a sheep dog. I only derive purpose through the protection of others. I am very happy with my job and purpose and have ample time off during the year but make no mistake, you will earn every minute of that time off. I feel purpose which is more important to me than money.

I change lives everyday and have helped guide so many having a real ****ty time as a young adult.

From 0-18 years you get an additional 5.5 years pto to spend with your kids than an OnG job. Put a dollar figure on that.

Police officer for the last 9 years. I plan to make it another 11, then decide if I want to change it up. I have thought about Park Police with TXPWD as I live near some nice parks/lakes or get into land/home sales. I figure if I can deal with the general public as much as I currently do, I should be decent at sales.

Spent 11 years in the Air Force as a power pro working in power plant operations. Got out and went to work as a field service engineer working on UPS’s supporting critical power backup for 20 years before promotion to supervisor over TX/LA for last 7 years. Very demanding career, but highly rewarding.

Currently have a field service engineer position open in Austin TX and another soon to be opening in New Orleans. Work from home and manage own schedule with demanding on call schedule. Truck, laptop, phone, internet, gas, clothes, tools, training all provided. Knowledgeable in electronics required.

If she was based at our corporate office (Arsenal) then it’s very likely I would know whoever this is.
