    This ^^^

But if you don't have Genetics it doesn't matter what age they are or what you feed them.

4000.00 + feed probably 2,000-3000 a year should get you in the 150+ territory, and that’s killing one 150+ Deer about every 5-8 years or more.

This! It matters, but it comes way after age, IMO! Age is the key.

6,250 plus feed which is roughly the same as lease fee depending on year. That’s with very few trophy deer under 160” and some management deer over 150”. Our goal is to have everyone with a shot at 170” deer each year. I don’t think we are far from it

I’d love to find a spot on a trophy lease.

GOt invited to be apart of 19k acres under management for 7 seasons. I'm at about 7500 with feed. Haven't seen a buck on the hoof or camera over 130". Haven't seen but 1 buck over 8 points. They changed the rules 1 week before bow season and a few other things. Anyway I think I over paid and got told a few tall tails. So still looking for the diamond in the rough property.

Lots of $! Lots of HF places in the hill country you could kill 6 rams, two axis, a zebra, and a 150” WT for that in all seriousness big low fence deer aren’t cheap!

On the right ranch in Mexico for around 4K/guy, you can have a legitimate shot of killing a 150" deer every year. Certainly not for everyone though...

Let deer get old. Real old. Get as many bucks as possible to 7.5+ and feed them decent along the way and you can grow 150” in any part of the state. Regardless of what the entry fee to get in the gate is.

We pay $12 an acre and have 5,300 acres out of a large ranch. Not sure what my feed bill is but probably around $5k to $7k per year. We have at least 25 bucks running around that will score over 150. We feed cottonseed and protein year around
