    DIY Stand and Fill

Really wanted to by a 600lb feeder but being the cheap arse that I am I could not let go of the $400 to $700 price tag. I got to looking at the 85 gallon drums or possibly welding to 55s together but there was no way to make a stand and fill like you could buy. I had recently bought a new miller machine and decided I was going to give it hell and try build my own.

I now know why they are priced the way they are for the all steel ones that are bent and welded. Its not perfect but for my first one and no plan I think it came out alright. Said and done I have about $250 into it not counting my time or cold drinks consumed. Ended up holding 750lbs with about an inch to spare from the top

thanks for the info. I had a guy cut me the pieces already and went with 30x30x30 with a funnel. so glad to hear yours will hold 750 lbs. I was thinking mine would only hold around 650 based on after measuring the 600 lb all seasons feeder.

Believe it or not the funnel capacity is deceiving.

14ga on the legs and i think 16ga or 18ga on the sheetmetal.
