Far north Texas, Pampa area, is the same way. Went to Domestic Marijuana Eradication school up there. The government use to pay farmers to grow it back in WW 2 to make rope for the military.

Hemp and our KS place has alot of it.

I was told it was a crop at one time, and the govt made all hemp etc illegal.

It's the remains of crops I guess.

Theres a giant hemp farm off 81 in Virginia. Ive got pics of it but for the life of me cant figure out how to post a pic on here. Otherwise id share. Me and my co driver pass it twice a week while at work. The other week we passed it, i said i wonder if it smells outside. This palce is a commercial operation. Rolled down the windows to the truck, and it reaked. Smelled skunky like pot. Tennessee and Virginia are encouraging farmers to grow it. Hemp that is

Son and his business partner just pulled down 25 acres and was a ton of work for them. Can't imagine a giant garden and the labor needed to do so.
