    question for the duck hunters

I can't call. Is there another way to attract passing ducks-besides your decoys-to your spread?
It's not that I won't call I've been practicing for weeks now it just hasn't come together at all to even begin to sound like a duck calling so therefore I can't call.

Find a buddy that can call and take him hunting with you.

You’re MUCH better off not calling at all than calling poorly.

Yep , a whistle is much much easier to use than a mallard reed call

More species of ducks whistle then go quack

Definitely a whistle. Practice Wigeon and Green wing a little and you'll be fine. Being in the right spot is way more important

You are way ahead of the game. Better knowing you can't call than to thinking you can.
I'm in the knowing I can't group also.

Most callers do more harm than good!

Most importantly, you have to be where the ducks want to be. Unless you are running a giant "traffic" spread, you are rarely going to entice ducks that are high flying over into your spread. Try to liven up your decoys, put a mojo in to try and catch their eye, use a jerk string to put some motion in the decoys in the water. With that being said, you also have to be willingto pull the mojo if the ducks are reacting negatively to it. I would always less calling if it isn't being used properly.

Buy the 4n1 Whistle from Faulks, watch some youtube videos on how to use it. And get after them. I have gotten to where I predominantly whistle the last few years. Only touch a call as a last ditch when they are leaving.

Just like the Mojo ducks. So many hunters blasting at the ducks from Canada down to the gulf of Mexico I feel they get weary of calling and mojos.

                      Your mileage may vary.

Whistles, mallard drake call, and get the dekes moving.

I only blow a mallard hen call when there are no ducks to be seen, and do so softly...... and that's only because I think it sounds cool!

Are you using single red or double reed?

Use your chest to call if that makes sense.

You want to have a little bit of hum to your tone, make sure your teeth aren't closed together also when trying to call.

Practice with single quacks and then move up when you get it down.

                          Quack....quack.....quuuuuaack quuuack quuack quack

Jerk string, leave the call at home.

This is what I do. But I can provide some decoys.
