    Homemade Backpacking Meals - Taste Testing Freeze Dried Meals (vol 1)

    Jeanette and Colette rode with me on a trip to Colorado for work last weekend, and we were able to spend a couple of nights camping above Lemon Reservoir. We took the opportunity to sample some of my home freeze dried backpacking meals.

                        My first attempt at rehydrating bananas and strawberries didn’t produce gear results. I misted each with cold water and let sit for about 10 minutes.



                        They were already starting to get a little too soft/mushy on the outside but were still dry on the inside. I’ll keep playing around with different methods. I think I need to add some citrus to the water for the banana, as it was already starting to discolor a little.
