Any of y'all live near the new Bois d'Arc Lake?

It sounds like the first new major reservoir in 30 years is filling pretty quickly - I read it is up 18' since they closed the gates about 3 weeks ago. TPWD has already begun their stocking program. It's exciting to have a new 16,000 acre impoundment in north Texas. Any of you locals know what the plans are for marinas and other access?

Didn't even know this went underway!

What implications does it have down stream?

Looks like initial plans was 3 boat ramps

I’m sure it wasn’t exciting to the folks who lost good land so that Dallas could water yards in July and August.

Lol. Being forced to sell your land is different than choosing to sell your land. Let me guess, you live in the city?

Getting one new reservoir up and running is putting a band aid on the problem we’ll soon have. The powers in charge need to recognize it and change the way we do things in regards to both using and conserving.

No way that north Texas can continue to boom population-wise like we are and are projected to, and not outgrow the water supply. WAY too many people waste water like it’ll never run out.

My fear is The next five year drought is coming sooner than later. Hope people haven’t become forgetful with the last six wet years and the water districts having full lakes.

Not all growth is good. But all the developers tout it as a good thing. It is... for them.
