I’ll keep this one short, I drew a pretty solid deer tag for late archery season in New Mexico. After scouting for two days and seeing some great deer during the hunt, I was able to get an arrow in the important places of a really nice buck. There was crunchy snow everywhere and stalking was a nightmare, but I can’t wait to do it again if I’m lucky enough to get a tag. Hunted for 9 days, two days of scouting, slept in a tent in single digit weather the whole time and enjoyed myself thoroughly. Met some very solid people along the way.
The buck i killed was not the biggest I saw or even in the top 5, but he was a mature buck in a killable situation. I’m very happy with him and with the experience. Hunting alone, I apologize for the field pictures. The ones in the driveway show him much better. I’d guess his body to weigh 265 or so on the hoof
(I’m not going to mention unit numbers)
