One of my all time favorite singers by a long shot. Not a song I don’t know by heart or one I don’t know of his.

If you’re a fan of his and ever find yourself in Sheridan, WY you have to eat and have a drink at the ledoux saloon.

He Rides the Wild Horses, Seventeen, Hippies in Calgary, and So You Want to be a Cowboy were some of my favorites when I was rodeoing.
Can't See Him From the Road, It Ain't the Years, It's the Miles, and The Ride are the ones I lean towards now.
Great guy who never forgot who and what he was.

I have a cassette tape I bought from him in Cheyenne for $1.00. He was setting on his tailgate selling them and singing. I wouldn’t sell it now for $1000. He was one of the true cowboy singers.

I met him a few years before he died. He was very nice to my wife and I. Told him we danced to Look at you Girl at our wedding. He smiled and thanked us.

When I Shook his hand I noticed his knuckles. Some were Huge and jacked up. I guess Old rodeo injuries…

Saw an interview where Chris Ledux said he about wrecked his truck the first time he heard that.

Powder River really speaks to me. Being born and raised here, we have a pretty strong fan base.I used to see him in town with his wife on a frequent basis and he was just a regular guy.
His son, Ned, is keeping is memory alive with his band.
