Looked for a month, never could find it. Finally found some Mobil Diesel and went with it. I'll stock up next time I find it.
Maybe Beto can send us some unicorn farts until then. |

More proof we'd all be better off driving electrics
![]() I usually run Valvoline Premium Blue but it's also apparently hard to find now so I ended up with Mobil full synthetic found at the local Wal Mart but its about all they had Sent from my LG-LS998 using Tapatalk |

yes it has. I like to have never found some Rotella Diesel 10W-30 for my tractor. A guy in an Auto Zone checked around and found two 1-gallon jugs for me and had it shipped over for no charge to do it. Otherwise, all the TSC stores have NONE !

Advanced Auto Parts in Willis has cases of Rotella T6 in both 5W-40 and 15W-40. Little pricy at $37.99 a gallon, but they have it and DEF in stock right now.

I have drums and pails of T-4 15w-40 and T-6 5w-40.
I can get anything you need if it’s available . Unfortunately it’s hard to package and ship just a jug or two of oil , but if interested I’m bulk by all means give me a call. Trey @ 936-444-6143 |

I've been using Rotella T6 for @165K miles and approaching an oil change I couldn't find any T6.
I do my own PM, but have been using a local shop for @1 year for what I can't do on the truck. A few months ago, they recommended Schaeffer oil, 15w-40 syn to be exact. It's not cheap- but it is available locally, and on Amazon. I changed it yesterday, hopefully all goes well. |

While GM builds many of their engines down in Mexico, hardly any of the holes come out round, much less have tight tolerance. I know of machine shot that gets brand new GM crate engines tears them down and goes through the whole engine. They say the big ends of the rods are not round, the cylinders are not round, then the rod and main journals are not perfectly round either. They have to go back and true up just about everything in those engines. I would assume the Duramax diesels are still made by Isuzu, be a lot better than Mexican made. |

I was surprised to see my Royal Purple Duralec Super at Oreilly. I normally order from Amazon in a 3 gallon case but went ahead and grabbed the 3 they had. It was 35 a gallon…not too bad. This is all I’ve run in the Cummins.

I bought some more gallon jugs of T5 15w-40 last week at Home Depot in Rosenberg for around $14 per gallon. I’m guessing they have overlooked raising the price.

Oreilly in Liberty Hill has four 2.5 gallon jugs in stock on the self right now. You could call and have them set it aside.

Looks like the shortage is starting to ease up some. WalMart has it online (For $57/Gallon
![]() I still don't see it on Amazon. But maybe the drought is easing up? Semi related, I waited 6 plus months for an oil filter for my car. Finally found a shop that had them, not marked up 200%, and ordered two. The shop only shipped USPS. So 50/50 chance it even shows up. Well guess who put my package in the wrong mailbox? Last time I ordered something USPS, exact same issue. |

I had to use Mobil 1 delvac this time. Supposedly they were only packing Rotella in 55 gal drums through the pandemic to keep the big boy shops afloat with supply. I have heard that they are gonna start back the supply for the everyday guys like us soon.

Just curious , what`s the difference in T-5 and T-6 ? Also between 5-40 and 15-40 ? Which weight would be best in these hot Texas months ?

5 is a blend while 6 is full synthetic which means little to me. The weights are more critical, older Diesel engines used 15-40 but some newer ones (powerstroke) require the 5-40 dues to clearances in engine components. and the wrong oil will void your warranty |
