Thank you! We are so excited to get this going. This family/brotherhood never ceases to amaze me. How can someone who has never met us be so willing to help. I know there has been some bad experiences in the past with people coming in here to take advantage. I was very hesitant for that reason. I love having you guys/gals in my corner.

Hers a little update!!!:

We have ordered 100 bibles. I will post pics when they come in. We got nice sized ones with large print!

My wife wrote a poem lastnight that we will be including in the handouts. Here it is.

Grief is a thief
Creeping in the dark of night,
Stealing sleep, stealing peace, nothing ever feels alright
Grief takes loving, caring, stable, parents and makes them disappear
You live in sadness, you tremble with fear, Every day you think another tragedy is near
One more drink to kill the pain, one more shot and you might feel sane
One more drag to get you off of memory lane
You hear voices telling you just close the door
No one wants to hear your sob story anymore
Cry in the dark, don’t let them see
Don’t show them that you can barely breathe
Isolate yourself, deal with it, cancel your plans
Stay in bed, turn off the light, turn on the fan
No one cares and no one knows
How deep your pain can truly go
These are all dirty, filthy, lies
There are people who want to help you, to heal you, to dry your eyes
Jesus loves you and will never leave
Through all the anger, rage, questions, and screams
No matter how much you push and pull yourself away
He will be there at the end of the day
To help gather the pieces shattered on the floor
He is our comforter and so much more
There is hope for you and for me, With his salvation we are freed
He can provide all the love you will ever need
Don’t give up, the battle has not been lost
Keep fighting no matter the cost
You can make it through to the other side
Trust me I’ve been there, my son died
My heart is not healed, the pain is not gone
But every day I keep going, traveling on
I’m here for a reason, as are you
Keep going, get out of bed, there’s no telling what you are meant to do

We will print that on some card stock or laminate it. I’m thinking we will put a Bible verse at the bottom of it to get them to use their new bibles.

My wife posted this today.


Finally forced myself to sit down and put this “grief pamphlet” together. I’m almost done. It’s been a tough week. March is hard because it should be a time for celebration and watching my baby boy turn one year older. It should be a time to watch him cross a new milestone and mark the gigantic ruler on the wall in his bedroom. It should be an early morning donut run with extra sprinkles and chocolate milk so that I could surprise him when he awoke on his birthday morning. All I can do now is honor him from afar. And be thankful for the love that I did get to share with him. Be thankful for every morning I got to wake up to his beautiful, smiling, face. Every giggle I got to squeeze out of him. Every moment I remembered to pause, take a big wiff of his hair, and kiss him on the forehead. Each movie we laid cuddled up and watched. The mornings I held him just a little longer and kissed him twice before heading to work. And the few Saturday’s we moved a little slower and took time to just soak in his love. I’m grateful for every single second I got to spend with my angel. I wanted to thank you all again for your support. We couldn’t have done this without each and every one of you. We should get these pamphlets in sometime in the next two weeks. We will then stuff all of the bags and get them ready to pass out. I hope our baby is getting ready to celebrate in Heaven for the big crazy Two. We love you Noah Wade.
