I'm new to the site, but love to bowhunt. My buddy and I are making plans on a trip to lake Amistad NWR. We are looking at the boat only access hunting area. Anyone been there?

Area 4

We have hunted area 4, two different times this year. Saw alot of deer both times but have not been able to stick one. Area 4 is very rough with a lot of canyons and draws. Very thick brush in the bottom of the draws by the lake. Saw a few other hunters in that area, but not as many as the other units.

Thanks for the info. We're meeting at 1300 today at our lease to get a hard time. I'm on leave from 24 Dec thru 05 Jan, but we don't know how that coincides with the rut out there.
