Default Boat Trailer Rifle.....House.

So I've been working on this for a while, a little bit at a time, whenever I can.

Let me 1st say, it has gotten out of hand already and we're still just framing. I'd do a lot of things differently if I didn't have access to a butt load of "cheap" 2" light wall tubing. Anyway, here we go.

I've got a little old boat trailer that came with a jon boat I bought quite a few years ago. I put the boat in the truck if I need to move it so the trailer has been setting in the brick yard for years.

Started framing walls and floor.

Don't make it too high as to not be able to get it out of your outhouse!

The tongue on this trailer used to be about 6' longer than this, I had a pic but I lost it. I shortened the tongue, took off all the lights, boat rollers, carpet covered pads, winch, etc.

Then it was into the garage for new seals, and a bearing packing. While it was in there I flipped the axle below the leaf springs which raised the frame up about 5" so that the blind can set out over the tires. I need to get a better pic of this.

I added the tubing down the center too, to carry the center of all the floor "joists".

All framed up! I'm picking up the sheet metal from Charlie at Mueller in Aledo today, I'll start hanging the body on this rig tonight or tomorrow.

So, where does the boat trailer come into the picture?
I know you're going to need it to move this monstrosity, but I figured you'd build it ON the trailer.

Impressive project, as usual.

I'm gonna put the sheet metal on before I put it on the trailer so I can do as much as possible inside where it's warm. Then I'll bring the forklift home from work to set it on the trailer, weld it down, then move on to inside finish-out.

It will be insulated, with plywood on the inside and lexan windows. I bought a wall mount bathroom type heater that will mount to one wall, with a propane tank on the tongue. You can kinda see the heater in the box beside the dog. You can also see a battery box.....what might we use that for????

if I didn't have access to a butt load of "cheap" 2" light wall tubing.

For some reason it didn't load all of your first post and I went back and saw this, now I know why you use so much tubing! If you ever run across "too much" I'd be interested in buying some!

I think I'm gonna put fold down jacks at all 4 corners, like the one on top of the box to the left of the dog. Except I'll take the wheel off, and build a "foot" for them, that one is for the tongue.

Don't kid yourself, Fred is a bad hombre capable of great violence when the situation calls for such!

I poured that primer on my leg before the 1st drop of it ever touched the blind........I'm gettin too old to still be this dumb! Odds are pretty good there was a stone or two sacrificed in the ruining of those boots though...
