Yea, watching the weather now. Looks like it's headed my way, but getting weaker. Glad y'all are ok. Looks like there's a couple other patches forecast for us until around 7ish. Stay safe!

Measured the peak wrong and short 11". Ordering a piece of Ridge Cap to cover remaining part in the center. 99.9% dried in. Very productive weekend!

Thanks guys!

Looks like perfect timing to get it dried in. More rain and high winds coming in the next couple hours. See if it holds up. 70+ mph winds and hail!!!

Time to finish this project out! Nice to come over after all the rain we have had and find zero water inside!

Windows, doors and tubs will be installed this week. FIL is getting a lot of it done himself while I am at work all week. This wknds weather is looking great and should be 100% dried in. Start electrical, plumbing and insulation next week working at night! Majority of the updates after this wknd will be late at night. Goal is 6-7 wks to finish.

Excellent build and craftsmanship, my hat's off to you. I'll have to admit a project like this would be a little overwhelming for me, but can certainly imagine the satisfaction once it's complete.

Hopefully, your wife is feeling better.

Porch roof progress was slow this wknd but inside went well. Wires ran and insulation half done. Bathroom tubs set in place as well. This week I hope to finish porch roof, interior doors, insulation and start plumbing.

Believe I'm sitting somewhere between $18-$19k at this point.

Been knocking out interior. Walls are insulated, electrical is in place and I will be getting plumbing done this week. Built the front steps Saturday so we could eliminate the ladder access!

Will try and take some pics this evening of progress. Making a Lowe's trip and doing a QSP for the remaining materials. Should save $$$$$$!!!! Budget is looking good so far. Shooting for Thanksgiving or week after to be completed!

I got everything material wise back. Lost about $1500 in tools.

So far sitting just under $20k. Estimated $15k to finish and at most $20k.

Jason, did you use a drywall lift to do the ceilings? I hope so. I've got one, and it saved my old back from a lot of strain. Your welcome to use if if you still have more to do.

Man, that is nice. If I may ask, how did you build that for $20k? I got an estimate for an outdoor seating area that is 15x15, with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace and it was in the ballpark of $30k. I am thinking I may get you to come out and build me a 2nd house in my backyard. LOL! Seriously, that is amazing.

TexasGrown my BIL actually helped with ceiling. Going pretty smooth. If I did that portion alone I would definitely take you up on that offer. Thanks!

Save A LOT doing things yourself! I have receipts for everything if anyone doesn't believe me.

One clue I can tell you is Lowes "QSP" deal! Save lots of money on purchases over $1400. Talk to a Pro Desk employee and they will explain.

I am $21,400 in right now with sheetrock. Should have it completed in the $41k range +/- $2k.

Estimated to Finish

A/C - $5000 (Having Done)
Septic/Plumbing - $5000 possibly way less if I can tie into existing tanks.
Tape/Bed/Texture - $1000-$1500 (Having Done)
Paint - $700
Flooring - $1200
Cabinets/Countertops/Vanities - $2500-$3000
Interior Doors/Trim - $2000
Light Fixtures - $1000
Exterior Siding/Metal - $2000
(2) more sets of steps - $1000
Appliances already have.
