I agree with DKincaid. At first glance he looks young—3.5. Face and neck look 3.5. Pot belly suggests older. Still, first impressions rarely lie. Another pic would be helpful.

I agree with David.

He's young, but he's also healthy, and fat, which makes him look big/older.

That neck & head though say 3.5/4 all day long.

I still think 3.5. That skinny neck says young deer to me. On my lease, all the deer are super fat due to the recent rains and all the forbs that have shot up. That would explain his girth.

Edited for being tired and wet. I meant it is a deer that’s 3.5 to 4 years old and has been protein fed because his horns don’t match his body. He has larger antlers than most deer that age

3. Look at the neck, face and front shoulders. Yeah, he's fat but that's not a mature deer. Let him walk two years and you'll be glad he has 25 or 30 more inches of antler.
