If he was closer I would pick it up. I could at least give it a decent home

Alligator turds have an unimaginable stink. A friends dad had a cayman when we were kids. Aside from it being interesting, its pool stunk up their house something fierce. No idea why you’d want one.

I know you used to be able to buy Caiman Alligators in the pet stores in the 90’s. Not sure if it was legit or not.

Young Alligators become more and more aggressive the more you feed them! Don't believe this is legal, but is still a bad idea!

Old enough to remember alligators for sale in several Texas stores. About 8" plus long best I can recall? People would buy em, get a badly bleeding finger and ditch em. Today without a permit from TX P&W, I would say NO.

American alligator is illegal, caymans are legal. That’s why pet stores only sale caymans.

I think the real question is, who cares?

Searched to see if could find a source to buy one. Found many! Yet Texas has a law noted above in another comment which says without a permit, No. So typical Internet, can buy almost anything except a rubber duck.

I care! My rubber duck is terrified of these critters!
