I don’t think I would like being a traveling salesmen. I love my Job when they are not cutting my territory. Furthest drive I had for years was 1.5hr and now it’s 45 minutes.

If you have a family, traveling is not the way to go.

18 years railroading for me. I don’t recommend it.

            Oilfield.

Headed to Pecos right now, then turning and burning to LA when I get finished up out here. I love the travel, but don’t recommend it if you have a family.

I used to be OTR driver in my 20's-30's and been in all 48 and Canada. I came off the road when my kids were born. They are out on their own and I am now single. I have experience in the wire rope industry and limited sales experience in that capacity.

Why do you want a traveling job? Is it to see the different places during downtime?

Heavy haul / crane & rigging

As others have said it’s fun for awhile but gets old quick.

Wifes cousin, a young guy, works for company that travels around remodeling grocery and home depot store. 18 an hour, 30 per diem. Gets paid while flying or driving, etc. He loves it.

Back when I did fuel systems, I would be gone for a couple weeks at a time. Hated it.
